Are You Tough Enough to Conquer the North Face Race to the Top of Vermont

Drawing from areas across the US and Canada, the North Face Race to the Top of Vermont (RTTTOVT) welcomes some 800+ hikers, mountain bikers and runners to climb Mount Mansfield, Vermont’s highest peak and Stowe is the setting for this amazing event!  Organized by the Catamount Trail Association, the RTTTOVT course covers the historic Toll Road and encompasses 2,564 challenging feet on this 4.3 mile race.  Some participants come to beat their time or be the fastest…some come to enjoy the outstanding views that the Green Mountains provide…some come for the camaraderie and the inspiration.  Whatever your reasons, the North Face Race to the Top of Vermont will challenge and fulfill you.

A Summertime Tradition in Stowe – Music in the Meadow Concerts!

Visitor’s and locals alike flock to The Trapp Family Lodge Concert Meadow, a spectacular natural amphitheatre, for a long running summertime tradition – the Music in the Meadow Concerts!  First started in 1976 and held in Whisker’s Field, Stowe Performing Arts has grown the Music in the Meadow Concerts into a perennial summer event for everyone to enjoy.  Much of the seating is “picnic style” and is given out on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t wait and get your tickets in advance through Stowe Performing Arts.

August 25 @ 6:00 PM – KneeBinding, Inc. presents Carolyn Wonderland Band.  A Texas Blues whirlwind – bringing poetry, soulful vocals and amazing guitar skills to the stage.

If Sundays don’t fit your schedule, another treat for music lovers is the Gazebo Concerts held on the lawn of the Helen Day Memorial Building on Tuesdays @ 7 PM (Rain site is the Stowe Community Church).  July 23 welcomes Dave Keller and the Dave Keller Band, July 30; the Swing Peepers and August 13, the Nisht Geferlach Klezmer Band.

Exposed: Outdoor Sculpture Exhibitions in Stowe

The Helen Day Art Center in Stowe produces major exhibitions featuring internationally and nationally recognized artists, along with local Vermont artists and artwork.  Exposed, is the annual outdoor sculpture exhibition in Stowe that hosts sculptures, site-specific installations and participatory work from national and international artists, all on display throughout the town.  On Thursday nights, the exhibitions will be accompanied by video artists, writers, performers and musicians.
