Memorial Day Weekend in Stowe and across Vermont, for that matter, will be dotted with yellow signs – for what you ask? Only one of the biggest statewide celebrations of the visual arts and the creative process – the Spring Vermont Open Studio! The public is invited to visit artists and craftspeople in their studios all over Vermont, some of which are only open to the public during this event, and gives everyone the opportunity to see the work of these artisans up close. The Spring Vermont Open Studio weekend will feature approximately 240 artist’s and artisan’s works from glassblowers, jewelers, potters, weavers, quilt makers, furniture makers and so much more.
Spring Vermont Open Studio Weekend is supported by The Vermont Arts Council and the Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing. The Vermont Crafts Council is a non-profit organization serving the Vermont visual arts community.
Look for the yellow wayfinder signs and posters that will help you locate the studios you want to visit, or visit the Vermont Crafts Council website to request a free Vermont Studio Tour Guide booklet, which are also available at Vermont Information Centers or from the individual participating studios and galleries.
People who have experienced the Spring Vermont Open Studio tend to return year after year, because each year there is more to discover. Visitors to the Green Mountain Inn can say the same.
