Races in Stowe Vermont

Consider this your “save the date”! One of the most highly-anticipated races in Stowe Vermont is set to return on Sunday, August 26th! We here at the Green Mountain Inn are ready to welcome you to your home base for the “hardest race anyone can do!"

Still unsure? We’ll break down the details:

On Your Mark…
The annual Delta Dental Race to the Top of Vermont is not only one of the most popular hiking races in Stowe all year. It’s also the Catamount Trail Association’s biggest fundraiser, with proceeds going directly to the preservation of the trails that weave their way across the state. This challenging feat attracts nearly 1,000 participants who choose to either bike, hike, or run up the 4.3 mile long Toll Road to the summit of Mount Mansfield, the highest peak in Vermont! Even though the trail is fully paved, the 2,564 feet of vertical elevation poses a challenge to even the fittest competitors.

Get Set…
Running always seems to garner the highest number of participants. But this event is one of the top Stowe biking races as well! And for those who just want to enjoy the fresh mountain air and beauty of nature, hiking is becoming a more popular “race” option. Another way to experience this event is by partaking in the Youth Run for Fun, a running race in Stowe specifically designed for children ages 4-14!

GO!
Along with the awe-inspiring views at the summit, enjoy a post-race celebration including delicious BBQ, music, and the camaraderie that this event inspires. After your day spent exploring (and helping preserve) the amazing natural wonders of our state, return to the Green Mountain Inn for a night of well-deserved relaxation.
