Enjoy a Ghoulish Getaway with a Stowe Lantern Tour This Fall!

When you arrive in Stowe, it is clearly evident from the architecture of the buildings and layout of the town that there is a long history with many wonderful stories just waiting to be told.  Chartered as a town in 1763, Stowe is now Vermont’s largest town in land area and welcomes over 4,000 permanent residents.  Here at the Green Mountain Inn, which has been a part of Stowe since 1833, we love sharing our knowledge of Stowe and its interesting past.

A great way to learn about Stowe from the early settlers’ perspective is to take part in a Stowe Lantern Tour – a 1 hour professionally guided walking tour that allows participants to explore the area while carrying a candle lit lantern.  Hear entertaining stories of the resident ghosts of Stowe and New England and learn a little bit about what it was like to be an early settler of our village.
