Ride, Hike, or Race to the Top of Vermont

If hiking, biking, or running up a mountain appeal to you, you might be interested in the Race to the Top of Vermont.

This event is three-fold: a race, a fundraiser, and a good time. If you like a challenge, head to Stowe at the end of August to participate.

Climb a Mountain at This Race in Stowe

Hiking-on-a-trailThis big race to climb Mt. Mansfield will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2017. Every cent of the proceeds will support the Catamount Trail Association, a non-profit dedicated to preserving and protecting a 300-mile-long backcountry ski trail.

There will also be a kids’ run in Stowe, called the Kids Run for Fun, at the Mansfield Base Lodge. Kids from 4-14 can join in.

How to Participate

You don’t have to be a runner, or even a serious athlete, to compete in the race to Mt. Mansfield. If it sounds intimidating, don’t let the toughness of the race stop you from joining in! Grab a group of friends or family and enjoy a hike up while getting into the racing spirit.

The Course

The race course is 4.3 miles long and spans the Mansfield Toll Road, which takes you to the top of Mt. Mansfield. Prizes will be handed out, including cash, for the top racers in eight age categories split by gender.

After the Race

Stick around after the race to eat some celebratory BBQ! A full spread including BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, veggie burgers, salads, and beverages will be on offer. Plus, the food will be accompanied by live music.
