Head over to Vermont between June 3 – 12, 2016 for the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival in Vermont. The festival is a 10-day celebration of live music the whole family is sure to enjoy. There will be four stages of live music with headlining shows taking place at the Waterfront Tent and Flynn Center for Performing Arts. There will also be nightly showcases in restaurants and other venues around the city.

Jazz FestivalThe exciting jazz festival in Vermont always brings out the big acts and this year is no different. Headliners this year are set to include Charenée Wade, Randy Newman, Marcus Roberts Trio and Bela Fleck and the Flecktones.

Randy Newman will be opening the festival on the Flynn Main Stage. Particularly exciting, Bela Fleck and Flecktones will be reuniting for a special summer tour, stopping off at one of the best music festivals in Vermont, on June 9. The multi-Grammy award winning group first formed in 1988 and quickly became one of the unique super groups in the history of music.

Vocalist Charenée Wade will also be making an appearance. She was the 2010 runner up in the Thelonious Monk International Vocal Competition. Marcus Roberts Trio joins the festival, too, as Artist-in-Residence. The program invites jazz musicians to spend some time in the community participating in music education and engaging festival goers.

Get Ready for Chowderpalooza and Spring Art on Park in Stowe

Chowder ChefWhether you've been waiting for the next Chowderpalooza and Spring Art on Park in Stowe or have never attended the event and are keen to, you don’t have long to wait. This year’s festival will be taking place on Saturday, May 28, 2016, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Should it rain, the event will be held on May 29, 2016.

As events go, the chowder festival in Stowe is a popular one and just right for kicking off the summer. Local chefs will design and serve up some of their favorite chowders. They leave the judging for best dish up to the public. All you have to do is buy a $5 tasting bracelet, and you will be issued with voting tokens. Then you can set to work trying all the delectable chowders. Categories include veggie, red, white and open.

The chowder tasting will take place along Park Street along with the local artisan’s market, Spring Art on Park. There will be plenty of live musical entertainment, face painters and crafters selling crafts, fine art, and jewelry.

25th Annual British Invasion Car Show Rolling in Soon

This fabulous event brings together hundreds of British automobiles and enthusiasts in Stowe Events Field.

We are excited to see the 25th Annual British Invasion Car Show is gearing up to come to town in just a few weeks. Last year's event drew a field of over 675 British motorcars, making it the largest rally of these motorcars in the United States at the Stowe Events Field. This British classic motorcar show in Stowe is being hosted from September 18th through the 20th.

Take a Darn Tough Ride and Support Stowe Adaptive Sports!

Are you tough enough for a Labor Day bike ride in Stowe?

Join hundreds of people in Stowe as preparations are made to bike across challenging, but fun bike routes in support of Friends of Stowe Adaptive Sports. Residents, tourists and vacationers alike will join in this end of summer "ritual" in New England to be held on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. If you're feeling tough enough, take on a 48-mile, 60-mile or 100-mile bike ride through some truly beautiful routes in Vermont.

Darn Tough Ride
The Darn Tough Ride, scheduled over Labor Day weekend promise to be some of the best yet. Except for the family ride, prior routes used have been re-routed for this year's event. The route change for the event will still be a beautiful vista that makes a refreshing exertion for bikers. Compete in the King and Queen of the Mountain Challenge for a chance to win prizes if you're one of the top six fastest cyclists.

After the bike rides have been finished, participants of the Darn Tough Ride are invited to visit the Whip Bar & Grill, located in the Green Mountain Inn, to celebrate the community's success in supporting Stowe Adaptive Sports.

The Whip offers a variety of menus for all race participants, including brunch, lunch, dinner and a children's menu. North Face Race to the Top of Vermont

North Face Race to the Top of Vermont, on August 23rd, is designed to test your endurance, stamina and will to persevere in varied terrain.

The race is a total of 4.3 miles, and it brings over 800 people per year to explore the beauty of this mountain expedition. Mount Mansfield features a vibrant atmosphere that's abundant with green forests and grassland at low altitudes. Trekking closer to the summit, one will come upon Alpine tundra, which includes rare streaks of land that date back to the ice ages. The contrast of stark, rocky peaks with bright green meadows make traveling atop Mount Mansfield a truly unique and visceral experience that will last in your memories for generations.

The race is also open to not only trail runners, but bikers and hikers as well. Everyone is encouraged to go at their own pace, and a grand prize package worth 500 dollars will be issued to one lucky winner.  If you're looking for activities for all ages, the Youth Care Run for Fun, held at Stowe Mountain Resort, is a great way to introduce kids to the love of running!  Black Diamond BBQ will also be providing delicious food such as pulled pork sandwiches and Mediterranean pasta, served to all racers during a post-race meal.

Music in the Meadow Concerts are Almost Here!

Vermont's premier music event arrives with free summer concerts in Stowe

area are excited about the Music in the Meadow Concerts that take place in the Trapp Family Lodge Concert Meadow. With picnic-style seating, the concert series offers a season of free summer shows within a beautiful outdoor setting. Bring your family or friends for an unforgettable evening of jazz and fun that is part of this unique musical program and its contribution to the cultural scene of Vermont.

The August 2nd concert features the Hot Sardines playing electrifying jazz, and it all begins at 7:00 p.m. Their music is a fusion of musical influences from the Great Depression and features the sounds heard in several cities such as New York, Paris and New Orleans. Having played at the London Jazz Festival in 2014, this group was called back to do a second show. Additionally, the Vermont Jazz Ensemble plays on September 6th at 5:30 p.m., and they'll have your toes tapping as they play musical renditions in their big band style. With over 35 years of experience, this jazz ensemble has been bringing their sound to Vermont and New England since 1976 and they're a local favorite.
