A Stowe Lantern Tour Can Complete Your Ghoulish Getaway to Stowe!

A great way to learn about Stowe from the early settlers’ perspective is to take part in a Stowe Lantern Tour – a 1 hour professionally guided walking tour that allows participants to explore the area while carrying a candle lit lantern.  Hear entertaining stories of the resident ghosts of Stowe and New England and learn a little bit about what it was like to be an early settler of our village.

The 18th Annual Stowe Oktoberfest – Tradition, Food & Fun!

From Oompah band’s to authentic German foods to – of course – freshly brewed Vermont beers, the 18th Annual Stowe Oktoberfest will give families, couples and visitors alike a chance to create some wonderful Autumn season memories over a full weekend in October.  A portion of the proceeds raised at Friday evening’s event will go to support The Lamoille Home Health and Hospice.  Last year, Oktoberfest allowed Stowe Rotary to provide over $50,000.00 worth of support to over twenty local charities and scholarships in the greater Lamoille/Washington County region.

The British Invasion Car Show is back and it’s sporting a new location – the Stowe Events Field!  From the tiniest of Mini Coopers to the grandest dame of them all, the Rolls Royce, the British Invasion Car Show in Stowe has become North America’s largest British classic sports car and motorcycle event!  It’s a weekend long celebration and a salute to the great British Motorcar and also to the British lifestyle, and every year, on the third weekend in September the town of Stowe becomes a bit more “ace”.  MG, Lotus, Singer and British racing cars are featured Marques for 2014.

3rd Annual Darn Tough Ride!

It forms a loop…starting in Stowe, over Mt. Mansfield, to Jeffersonville, Eden, Belvidere and back over Smuggler’s Notch…and it’s a Darn Tough Ride!  Mark your calendars for the much anticipated 3rd Annual Darn Tough Ride on Sunday, August 31st.  Sponsored by Darn Tough Vermont, the race welcomes cyclists from Canada and all over New England to Stowe to be part of this end of summer ritual that helps to raise money to support the Mt. Mansfield Winter Academy and Friends of Stowe Adaptive Sports.

Run, Bike or Hike to the Top of Vermont!

North Face Race to the Top

Drawing from areas across the US and Canada, the North Face Race to the Top of Vermont (RTTTOVT) welcomes some 800+ hikers, mountain bikers and runners to climb Mount Mansfield, Vermont’s highest peak and Stowe is the setting for this amazing event!  Organized by the Catamount Trail Association, the RTTOVT course covers the historic Toll road and encompasses 2,564 challenging feet on this 4.3 mile race.  Some participants come to beat their time or be the fastest…some come to enjoy the outstanding views that the Green Mountains provide…some come for the camaraderie and the inspiration.  Whatever your reasons, the North Face Race to the Top of Vermont will challenge and fulfill you.

Music in the Meadow Concerts is the Perfect Summertime Tradition!

First started in 1976 and held in Whisker’s Field, Stowe Performing Arts has grown the Music in the Meadow Concerts into a perennial summer event for everyone to enjoy.  Much of the seating is “picnic style” and is given out on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t wait and get your tickets in advance through Stowe Performing Arts.  Visitor’s and locals alike flock to The Trapp Family Lodge Concert Meadow, a spectacular natural amphitheatre, for a long running summertime tradition – the Music in the Meadow Concerts!
