Summertime is built for lazy days and picnics, but if you’re looking for a little more entertainment bring the family to beautiful Stowe, Vermont. Enjoy the Summer Concert Series brought to you by Stowe Performing Arts as they present two summer venues: Music in the Meadow and Gazebo Concerts.

Music in the Meadow of 2016

Music-festival

  • July 10 the Vermont Symphony Orchestra brings you on a magical journey of music from around the world.
  • July 24 a party atmosphere that will make you want to sing and dance to music by The California Honeydrops and their funky blues style.
  • August 7 the Big Bad Voodoo Daddy band will have your fingers snappin’ and your toes tappin’ as they bring the swing, jazz, and Dixieland beats to the meadow.
  • August 21 Music in the Meadow wraps up with the USAF Heritage of America “Rhythm in Blue” Jazz Ensemble. This group is comprised of musicians enlisted in the Air Force and they honor our brave military through their music.

Gazebo Concerts of 2016

This free concert series takes place on the lawn of the Stowe Free Library every Tuesday from July 19 to August 9, and all you need is a picnic basket and a blanket or lawn chairs. Astrograss for Kids is a family show with sing-a-longs, fiddling hoedowns, dance contests, and a full-on bluegrass learning experience. If you’ve ever wondered if accordion players did anything besides polkas, then you’re not going to want to miss Those Darn Accordions as they take you on a musical journey in the “weird lane” of life. The third Gazebo Concert brings together the Morrisville Military Band and the Waterbury Community Band for their annual get-together with Broadway show tunes and patriotic numbers, for their grand finale of the National Anthem. The last concert presents Fireweed, a trio of acoustic guitar melodies that is reminiscent of Crosby, Stills, and Nash.
