The final vestiges of winter are upon us and soon the snow will begin to melt from our picturesque wooded wonderland. As the earth begins to dry and spring brings its slightly more mild temperatures to Stowe, Vermont, it signals the beginning of the sugaring season. During this time of the year, sugar makers begin to collect sap and boil it down until it thickens into the delicious Vermont maple syrup that we all know and love! Soon, it will be hard to find a restaurant in Stowe that does not include a little bit of maple sugar on its menu, as we take our syrup season quite seriously around these parts. So serious in fact that the Vermont Maple Open House weekend is one of the most anticipated events in Stowe in early spring.

It is quite an exciting time for us Vermonters and the Vermont Maple Open House Weekend is a perfect chance for you to discover some of the finest maple syrup being produced in our entire country. As the first crop of the Vermont maple sugar is being processed, many sugarhouses in our area open their doors to visitors to experience the maple magic firsthand. This year, these Vermont Maple Open House Stowe events will be taking place on both Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22. Each sugarhouse that takes part in the open house weekend puts its own spin on the maple syrup festivities, from tours to tastings to mile-long walks through the wooded area where the sap is tapped! How you choose to experience your own personal Vermont Maple Sugar sojourn in Stowe is up to you! A few of the top sugar houses in the area to consider investigating are Nebraska Knoll Sugar Farm, a Stowe Maple Products, and the local favorite Trapp Family Lodge!
