Come to Stowe for the Emergency First Responders Soul & Blues Bash!

If you’re looking for a great way to say ‘goodbye’ to fall in Vermont, be at the Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center on November 23!

Pexels-photo-144428

The Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center delights audiences year-round with a variety of world-class events in Stowe. These Stowe events include art shows, dance, comedy, exclusive film premieres, and of course live music. And if you want a way to finish off your fall in Vermont with a night of music, food, and fun while also celebrating some of the everyday heroes in our community, be sure to make plans to swing on by the Performing Arts Center on Saturday, November 23!

Honoring our entire region’s emergency first responders, the Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center will play host to Dave Keller’s Soul Revue with John Fusco and the X-Road Riders featuring special guest Seth Yacovone. The Emergency First Responders Soul & Blues Bash brings together these two celebrated acts for a night meant to celebrate not only the local arts in and around Stowe, Vermont but those who dedicate their lives to protecting our own. In true appreciation of their service, all emergency first responders can take part in the “Buy One, Get One Free” ticket promotion.

Dave Keller has been around for decades, as his passion for deep Southern soul and blues music drives him to continue getting out on the road to perform. Backed by a road-tested band of eight accomplished musicians in their own right, they will take you back to the glory days of Soul with some sprinkling in our Keller’s own compositions. Even though John Fusco may be known more like a film screenwriter, his passion for the blues has led him to the stage. With his own compiled bandmates including Gregg Allman and Seth Yacavone, his rock-tinged set will show why it’s great he decided to come out from behind the camera.

Of course, when you’re done rocking the night away, you will want a comfortable place to lay your head and rest. Be sure to book a room with us at The Green Mountain Inn, conveniently located less than 10 miles from the Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center. And to all of the Stowe First Responders, the entire staff at The Green Mountain Inn thanks you for your service!

On Your Mark, Get Set… The Vermont 10-Miler Is Almost Here!

Now in its third year, challenge yourself as you take in the late autumn foliage during this race through Stowe!

Running-1944798_1280

This fall in Stowe, the 3rd annual Vermont 10-Miler is returning to the streets of our beautiful town to challenge runners while also raising money to promote conservationism. As the name of this newer yet still highly anticipated race through Stowe implies, the circular course is ten miles long, starting and ending at the Mayo Farm Events Field. All races in Vermont treat participants to some amazing visuals and this one is no exception as the course will take you on one of the most popular trails, the Stowe Recreation Path, for the final three miles. To end the race, Vermont and its fall resplendence are on true display as you cross the West Branch River and return back to the Mayo Farm to celebrate!

As with all Vermont races, you need to register before the event. The 10-Miler returns to Stowe, Vermont on Sunday, November 3, 2019, at 10:00 AM and the number of participants is capped at 1,800! While that may seem like a large total, this event has become a signature race during late fall in Vermont with runners coming from all over the Green Mountain State to test their mettle on the course! It is also one of the three races that encapsulate the New England 10 Miler Series, with participants of all three earning true bragging rights and a special medal for their accomplishment. A portion of your registration fee for this race will be donated to the Stowe Land Trust, whose mission is to preserve many of those beautiful open spaces that you will blaze past!

During the race, there will be water, Gatorade, and aid stations available every two miles to keep you in shape and fully hydrated. But after crossing that finish line, this outdoor fun in Stowe takes a ‘hoppy’ turn as you and your fellow participants enjoy a cold beverage of choice at the Post-Race Beer Garden! Yet even though you have completed the race, we hope you’ll continue on to The Green Mountain Inn as your true finish line! Our Downtown location is conveniently located less than a mile away from the Events Field, providing you with a comfortable home-away-from-home for all of your pre and post-race needs!

Spend A Weekend With Us For The Stowe Foliage Arts Festival

This Fall Arts Festival is the perfect opportunity to experience the autumnal beauty of the Green Mountain State in all its resplendent glory!

Pexels-photo-831622

The Stowe Foliage Arts Festival is one of the most highly-anticipated signature events during fall in Stowe. As with many of the other annual events in Stowe that are produced by the New England outfitter, Craftproducers, you can expect an upscale and unique festival, even though it is now in its 37th year. Celebrating the fall foliage in Stowe at the height of the season in our area, the three-day event begins on Friday, October 11 and runs through Sunday, October 13. While the autumnal beauty may abound throughout Stowe, Vermont, Topnotch Field hosts all of the action for this event.

Just as in years past, this Stowe fall arts festival also brings together over 150 juried Fine Artists and Artisans who have their work on display for view and purchase. A few select artisans will be performing live demonstrations of their work, such as local metal sculptor Piper Strong, showcasing her welding skills in artistic form and Richard Foye, a Vermont clay artist whose raku pottery firing demonstration will surely light up the crowd!

Yet as with many events that take place in Stowe in the fall, the foliage takes center stage. Enjoying the live music and some of the delicious festival fare available throughout the weekend is made all the better when enjoying the company of your friends and family surrounded by the natural beauty of the colors of autumn. For those of a certain age, Idletyme Brewing Co. will be on hand, selling their latest beers all weekend long.

It’s beginning to look a lot like fall at our Downtown Stowe hotel. Topnotch Field is only a short drive away, making The Green Mountain Inn your perfect home-away-from-home for the weekend! Our inherent New England charm perfectly complements the feeling of this fall arts festival, yet with every modern comfort and convenience, you need for a pleasure-filled and relaxing weekend.

Raise Your Stein and Join Us For a Stowe Oktoberfest!

Don’t let the name fool you, one of the top things to do in Stowe this fall is actually happening in September!

Pexels-photo-1467807

Celebrate the return of autumn in quintessential Bavarian tradition during the 10th Annual Von Trapp Brewing Oktoberfest!  In English, we say ‘cheers’! At Oktoberfest, get ready to hear and toast with a hearty ‘prost’!

This year’s Stowe Oktoberfest will be once again celebrated at the von Trapp Brewing Bierhall & Restaurant on Saturday, September 21. Yet don’t let the hoppy nature of the name fool you – this Stowe, Vermont Oktoberfest, like many others across the globe, is about more than just raising a beer stein full of your choice of brew (even though there will be quite a lot of ‘prost-ing’ throughout the afternoon). The day will feature a variety of games and activities for the whole family and has become one of the events that many look forward to during the fall in Stowe. Live music will be provided by the local German outfit, Inseldudler, whose polkas and waltzes will keep your ears humming as your taste buds enjoy the variety of delicious Austrian fare. Entrance to the outdoor tented event is free with the festivities running from 11 AM to 7 PM. Parking will be available at the Trapp Family Lodge with complimentary shuttle service to and from the event.

If you are planning on rolling out the barrel and joining Stowe in the fall for this event, be sure to call The Green Mountain Inn your Oktoberfest headquarters! Our Old-World charm may skew more toward the New England approach, but our rustic charm still rings with true traditional reverence. And after a full day of fun at the Bierhall, retreat to the comfort and convenience of our Downtown Stowe accommodations that are located less than five miles away. Prost!
