What can you expect from this unique brand of summer fun in Stowe, Vermont? It all starts Downtown at 10 AM with a Fourth of July Parade, Stowe, Vermont style! Known as The Moscow Parade, all of the floats are required to be decorated for no more than $10 to keep the small-town charm of this event alive. After the parade and throughout the day (ending at 3:30 PM), celebrate at the “An Old-Fashioned Village” festival, complete with street performers, local artisan vendors, face painting, live entertainment, and of course, a variety of different festive foods! If you missed the Moscow Parade, fear not as the 5th Annual Village Independence Day Parade is considered by many to be the highlight of the day. A much more vibrant celebration, this parade embodies the patriotic spirit of the town and perfectly sets up the grand finale of the day at Mayo Events Field. At the park, guests can partake in carnival games, dine on some more fabulous local food and get ready for the impressive fireworks display to light up the sky.

This premier New England Renaissance Faire is held once again at the Mayo Events Fields in Stowe on June 22nd and 23rd.

Memorial Day weekend has long been the traditional “kick off of summer” in our country. In Stowe, Vermont, this is no different as each and every year, this sun-filled season is heralded in with the annual Chowderpalooza festivities. Stowe Vibrancy, an organization whose mission is to enhance the cultural characteristics of the town, sponsors eight major events in the calendar year. Not surprising, their “kick off” for the 2019 calendar is Chowderpalooza & Spring Art on Park.

Chowder tastings and competition – the heart and soul of the event is the competition for People’s Choice of Best Chowder. Many Stowe restaurants compete for this crown and a $6 entry fee will give you a taste of each and every one. Then, let your voice be heard as you help select the best of the best. Gear Up for the Stowe Craft Brew Race

Returning for its sixth year, this is the 5k in Stowe with some serious “hoppy” flavor!

Athleticism and drinking beer don’t often go hand-in-hand. But on Saturday, May 18, 2019, the Sixth Annual Stowe Craft Brew Race storms into town to add some flavor to this normal feat of fitness. But there is a lot more to this 5k in Stowe, VT than just the race and a cold one at the finish line! This is an all-day extravaganza that draws more and more participants each and every year, combining the 5k with a beer and musical festival near Mt. Mansfield, VT! Thinking about joining us for the event? Here is what you need to know…

Stowe Craft Brew RaceDate and Time – Saturday, May 18, 2019 with the start of the race set for 12:00PM (but please arrive early to allow yourself time to pick up your bib and check-in for the event)

Where – Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa is the starting line for the race. Yet the race itself is more or less a Stowe Recreation Path 5k, with the bulk of the mileage being spent winding through the scenic landscapes of our picturesque countryside along this paved trail.

Rewards – All participants will receive a medal, pint glass, and entry into the beer festival after the event.

Beer and Music Festival (Mt. Mansfield area) – Anyone 21 and older can purchase a ticket for this event after the race. The festival includes beer sampling, live music, and food trucks/vendors selling their wares onsite.

After an exciting day of brews and brawn, be prepared and plan on returning to the Green Mountain Inn with a medal around your neck and a “hoppy” smile on your lips. The warmer weather months are the perfect time to seek out some of the top hiking trails in Stowe, Vermont!

Whether you are looking for one of the more popular trails for family backpacking in Stowe, Vermont or just want the best place to take a stroll with your pup, a good place to start your journey is at Underhill State Park. Open from Memorial Day weekend through late October, this park is known for its hiking trails, four of which lead to the summit ridge of Mt. Mansfield, Stowe, VT tallest peak!

Within the expanse Mt. Mansfield State Forest, this park is the perfect place for a day outdoors with the whole family, including not only some of the best day hikes near Stowe, Vermont. Every trail may not be right for every level of hiker, so we put together a quick little guide of the most popular to help you decide:

  • CCC Road – (1.1 miles) The easiest and perfect for Underhill National Forest family hikes
  • Sunset Ridge Trail – (2.0 miles) May be considered one of the best for intermediate hiking in Vermont, and the most popular. This scenic pathway to the summit of Mt. Mansfield will give you great views of all of the distinct “facial features” of the rock formation (forehead, nose, lips, chin, and Adam’s apple). And don’t be fooled, the “chin” is actually the highest point!
  • Laura Cowles Trail – (1 mile) This hike may be the most direct route to the “chin”, but it is also the steepest and most difficult.
  • The Long Trail - Built between 1910 and 1930 by the Green Mountain Club, the Long Trail offers 272 miles of footpath and 166 side trails.
